Be inspired by Amanda Beable
Amanda first started Pilates to help manage headaches, she soon became hooked and is now one of our most advanced participants. Her strength and flexibility have developed and here she beautifully demonstrates the very challenging Pilates Swan Dive.
I joined Debbie's classes around four years ago, after my doctor suggested that pilates could reduce symptoms of my frequent headaches - and they have really helped. I always feel so much better after a Monday evening pilates session. I don't just go to pilates though for help with headaches though, my body's got a lot stronger and more flexible and I enjoy the challenges each class brings. Having moved house towards Winchester, at one point I changed to a Pilates class closer to home instead, the teaching wasn't of the same standard though and I soon re-enrolled with Debbie.
As well as pilates I have now participated in three of inspire me fit's Online Body Reset programmes. I find them a great way of getting back to a healthy living lifestyle and losing a few inches after a bit of a blip, such as last time when having no kitchen for 4 months meant I had grown quite a take away and ready meal habit. During the second week of my last Body Reset I realised I hadn't had a headache since the first few days of the programme, which wasn't very common for me. Having spoken to Debbie about this she recommended I try cutting out a food group at a time to identify if there's one that brings on the headaches. So since Body Reset I have cut out refined sugar and it seems to have helped, although not fully, so next on my list is grains. Now I've got sugar out of my system though I don't feel the need to include it again, especially as I can see the results on my waistline.
