Be inspired by Carol Neave
Carol is a great example of how by starting with Pilates and building core strength, then gradually adding higher intensity workout and resistance training you can completely transform your fitness. Not only that but we think she looks fab!
I started attending the Wednesday beginner pilates class in September alongside my second attempt of the NHS couch to 5K, I am always keen to start any fitness plan, changes to life at the beginning of the new school year rather than in January with the aim to improve my fitness originally for a ski holiday at Christmas which in the past have just turned up to and then wondered why it was so exhausting !
I have also been told that I have lower than normal bone density and weight- bearing exercise is important and obviously the joys of middle age is a concern. I then ditched the couch to 5K again (same as last time approximately at the 20 minutes run) as I wasn’t really enjoying it on my own and started attending Debbie’s outdoor Saturday morning workouts and then Vanessa’s Thursday evening outdoor workouts. My first Saturday workout I struggled to keep up and I really ached the following days but through regular attendance I have found a change of attitude towards exercise and my fitness levels and stamina have definitely improved plus I have more energy and motivation in life. I find all the classes I attend very friendly both from Debbie and Vanessa but also from the rest of the class. Although I have lived in Swanmore for a long time I don’t really know many people in the village so have enjoyed the opportunity of meeting new people; there is also a good range of ages and ability which I like. |
