Be inspired by Olly Wallace
Since training with Inspire Me Fit Olly has realised that we continually need to re-evaluate and change our exercise. She has taken up Pilates which has improved her back problems enough to join in the tougher Kettlebell classes. Her favourite session though is clearly the Outdoor Workout where she also has chance to de stress and enjoy the group camaraderie.
I have always tried to exercise throughout my adult life but it had always been by doing cardiovascular exercise such as running or aerobics. Despite thinking I was keeping active I developed problems with my neck and back which have persisted for years and have not been helped by long hours at a desk at work.
A couple of years ago (having realised my running days were over) I discovered Debbie’s Saturday morning outdoor workout and I was hooked! I started to realise that I had lots of muscles I was not working and strengthening – perhaps this was the cause of my back problems? I joined Debbie’s Pilates class and I love it! It has taught me patience in exercise – the response to Pilates is not quick but now I have been doing it for over a year and I can feel how much stronger I am and how much better my back and neck are! I feel very supported in class and also safe – Debbie knows that there are some things I can’t do as they aggravate my neck so I am given an alternative. The shoulder release workshop is a must for anyone with neck and shoulder problems- it was so good I bought my own roller to use at home! My back has improved so much that I have now added in some more impact this year– Vanessa’s HIT kettlebell workout- I did not know what a kettlebell was until I met Debbie and Vanessa! As well as learning more about whole body fitness and strength I love the social aspect of meeting lots of local people at classes and the camaraderie we have! It’s a great way to boost your mood and de-stress too! My goal this year is to improve my diet. Having been on 2 Wellbeing Days and tasted how delicious healthy nutritious food is I want to try out more of the recipes we were given at home and make them part of our regular meals. To be chosen as an inspirer is very exciting for me! I have always been very enthusiastic about exercise but am not particularly good at it but I am now learning how to get the results I want thanks to Inspire Me Fit! |
