Be inspired by Sam Whittaker
Sam is a busy working Mum who has gone from strength to strength with Inspire Me Fit. After initially joining us for Pilates she quickly added cardio sessions to her fitness regime. She is always keen to challenge herself and continues to improve her fitness levels and body tone. We are looking forward to spending some time with her at our retreat in Girona.
Before children, my husband and I used to be quite active with my exercising, and used to go running, (london marathon), cycling, walking, skiing and occasional classes. However, since having our 2 boys who are now 9 and 7, I have not done very much at all.
When they both started school, I thought this would be the ideal opportunity to get back into some form of exercise, and I prefer during the day, morning time if possible. I also work shifts, so this time would fit in with my lifestyle. I found Debbie’s classes via the internet, which luckily, are only in the next village, and started very gently with her beginners pilates class. I naively thought that pilates would be easy, but how wrong can you be! However, I enjoyed it so much that I began to also practice at home, and was able to progress to the next level of class. I also now attend the kettlebell class, which I think is absolutely brilliant for a full body workout, and for getting your heartrate up, and the Saturday morning class when I can, shifts allowing. |

This summer I thought I would try Debbie’s ‘Body Reset’, as I had put on a bit of weight over both Christmas and Easter. I found the food enjoyable, however, I did miss my tea and coffee! However, the greatest boost for doing the body reset was the fact that I lost 4 lbs during this week, which then gave me the encouragement to eat better, if not strictly by the body reset diet, but to be more mindful of what I was eating and to look after my weight and general well-being more. As a result, I have now lost a total of 9 lbs so far, feel much better in myself and have started the boys and my husband on a walking regime, which we love to do together.
As we live in the countryside, we like to be outside a lot, and walking is the ideal exercise for all 4 of us. My husband had a hip replacement operation in March, however, on our recent holiday to the Isle of Wight in August, all 4 of us walked the 7 miles over Tennyson Down to the needles and back again, with no complaints (the furthest the boys have walked so far!) I was extremely proud of my family, and many thanks to Debbie for helping me get back on track with my fitness, especially with a young family. I am 52 years old, and want to be fit and healthy for them, just as I was in my younger years, and especially as I realise I am an older mum.
